about black and brown creatives and their WHY.

BLACK SOUL MEDIA is a community focused on consumers of culture as well as black and brown creatives across the interdisciplinary, overlapping fields of academia, entrepreneurship and artistry. It focuses on the anatomy of their craft, getting at questions like: What’s your creative process? How do you respond to the inevitable road blocks that come with starting some new shit?

When high school started, I was convinced I knew it all. I was a kid from Trenton who just wanted to ball and get As. By God placing pivotal events and people in my life, I reluctantly joined the school newspaper—eventually working my way up to Editor in Chief and leading the paper through its first magazine production. My first love already being writing, this is where I stumbled upon another fulfilling romance: interviewing others.

I got my first taste of the media and entertainment industry with Combs Enterprise in 2016, and since then I’ve worked with brands such as HBO, BET, Paramount, Nickelodeon, ESPN, and The Wharton School of Business. My experiences sparked in me a burning desire to cultivate a community around substance, access, and collaboration.
